I am pleased to announce that Presence Ministries will hold its next annual conference, this coming June 16 to 19th, 2004, at the historic Glen Eyrie Castle, in Colorado Springs.
Glen Eyrie was built in 1903 by General William Jackson Palmer, Civil War hero, railroad tycoon, and founder of Colorado Springs. Nestled in the Colorado Rockies in majestic Queen Canyon, Palmer's built his estate on a 1,000 acre valley, hidden in the Garden of the Gods.
The heart of Glen Eyrie is its historic Castle, a 67-room English Tudor-style mansion with 24 fireplaces. Palmer incorporated many advanced features into his Castle, incluing an intercom system, a spark-free chimney exhaust and central vacuum cleaning.
Shortly after building his estate, Palmer and his wife, Queenie, hired a surveyor to develop the valley. The surveyor looked up to see an eagle's nest high in the cleft of a rock and in his best Scottish brogue said, "Ah, Glen Eyrie. Valley of the eagle's nest." From then on the Palmer estate was known as Glen Eyrie.

In 1953, Billy Graham heard about the estate, and wanted to make it his international headquarters. Prevented from buying it as a ministry headquarters, he advised his close friend, Dawson Trotman, founder of The Navigators to purchase it for $300,000 as an international conference and training center.
Today, Glen Eyrie is Colorado Springs' premier retreat conference facility, just 25 minutes from the airport. Big horn sheep and mountain deer are often seen on the grounds.
Participants at Transmillennial® 2004 will have each afternoon off to rest and refresh themselves and to enjoy the great Colorado outdoors, starting right at Glen Eyrie. Amenities include hiking trails, tennis courts and fitness room. Participants can also reserve tables for a Victorian English Tea, served daily at 2:30 pm.
Our theme for 2004 will be "Worlds in Transition: then and now." We will be look at the covenantal transitions of 1st century and ask how faith should navigate the cultural transitions of our day.
Our plenary meetings will be in the spectacular Great Hall, where General Palmer hosted his parties. Morning electives will be held in different buildings surrounding the Castle, including the air-conditioned Big Horn lodge. Our electives will be grouped in four "tracks," including a theology track, a worldview track, a lifeskills track and an introductory track.
